Let's go to......MALACCA!

So, it was our very 1st road trip to Malacca after talking bout going on a holiday together with our bfs. And at the same time, it was my bestie's bday weekend! So what better way then to spend time together in Malacca. We ate too much that our tummies were gonna explode anytime.

And we decided on a 3days 2 night road trip with Fel's boyf driving us everywhere!

The toilet of Hatten Hotel.
We arrived around 12 noon and our rooms were still not ready. So, we decided to satisfy our starving tummies by having Nyonya Food at the highly raved Nancy's Kitchen located at Jonker Walk.

Lime Plum Drink, Tastes very much like plum juice

Ayam Buah Keluak. The Keluak was quite big and they charge by the number of pieces you order

Our favourite! Sambal Udang Petai. This was really good and all our fave!

Cincalok Omelette. Not my fave cos it was a tad too salty for my liking.

Sambal Kang Kong. It wasn't cooked they way we do it here in Singapore. This dish tasted slightly more watery and seems like they just add in cut chilli to spice it up.

We then walked around to digest and find some dessert to try out. Wanted to try the cendol below but it got too crowded and we gave it a miss.

Fel came across this and wanted to give it a try and so we headed in and bought 7 pieces. The stall assistant was really adorable and after she bought, she insisted that we had to consume it in JUST ONE BITE

All of us managed to eat it in 1 bite except for her and it was her 2nd attempt eating it in 1 bite. Succeeded!

Our rooms were finally ready and here we go! Checking into the spacious suites and loving every minute in there.

Shopped around the shopping malls nearby and decided to have curly fries from A&W!!! They come only in 1 pathetic size!

We were discussing about where to go for dinner and not wanting to travel to places that will be crowded, we settled for Old Town which was still cheaper than consuming it in Singapore.

Day 2, off for our movie before lunch

Arrived at Baba Loh and it's a rather unique find. One would never have known good, cheap local nyonya food were sold here. Limited selection of items though.

So we had the Laksa and Popiah and Nasi Lemak. We learnt that in Malacca, Nasi Lemak sets don't come with Fried Chicken. Just loads of veggies.

Very interesting popiah skin, quite similar to the kebab wrap skins

Chendol was really good. Not too sweet and gula melaka was really thick and flavourful.

This is how the place looks from the outside.

Headed to find a few other eating places but they were already closed for the day. So the guys went for their massage while the gals had their manicure.

Thereafter, we decided to try the nearby Korean BBQ.
Free flow of side dishes

I cannot remember what this is called, but it's roasted pork meat with kimchi oysters and clams. Not too bad.

Hot beef soup. Lots of veggies though, I couldn't really find much meat in it.

Very Korean setting. Love the setup only.

Day 3, checked out, buy Nyonya kueh, followed by lunch
My favourite Baba Charlie!

Stall selling very homely duck noodles. Not too bad

3C Tea. This is very good! Tastes better than bubble milk tea

Dinner back in JB. Awesome noodles at San Low Restaurant!

It was a pretty relaxing trip, we caught 2 movies at only about SGD5 per ticket and we ate to our hearts' contents. But I can't believe I actually fell sick the following day.
