Travelogue: Beauty Hauls & Loots from Taiwan

Showing you my Beauty Hauls and Loots from Day 1 to Day 5 from Taiwan!

Day 1
Most of these were basic necessities like the body wash, shampoo, hair wax, tissue paper (because we forgot to pack in extras) and the hair dye which we forgot to include in.

I stared with some beauty hauls and they were going for really cheap. Take for example, I use only Canmake Eyeliner. It costs only SGD11 there while it retails at 14.90 here in Watsons. The 2 spray bottles you see on the right side are My Beauty Diary Face Scrub which were going for 1 for 1.

Most of the facial masks were on promotion and retailed from a range of 199 all the way to 499 and Buy 1 Get 1 Free promotion

B love the pink DC shoes and insisted that I buy them. The retro headband was his favourite too.  Items above were purchased at Shih Lin ye shi execpt for the 1028 cleanser and cucumber facial mist which we purchased at Watson's because I needed the makeup remover.

Day 2 - Wu Fen Pu & Raohe Ye Shi

Most items at Raohe were retailing at even lower prices as compared to Wufen Pu.
All the shoes, hair accessories and the mini pouches were purchased from RaoHe and the pathetic amount of apparels were from Wufen Pu. Ted was from RaoHe too! There was a shop selling Sanrio products and Ted was on promotion. Too adorable that we just got to bring him back with us!
Returned back to Ximending and since we had some time, decided to explore their Daiso and purchased the face  scrubber (see those in pink? on the front row) and I bought a pair or lower eye lashes to try. Stepped into Watsons with the objective of purchasing another box of hair dye but I got distracted and ended up with the Ma Cherie shampoo, conditioner, 1028 blusher,Naruko Job's Tears Night Gelly, Fino Hair mask and purchase with purchase cucumber facial mist. The boxes of facial masks were purchased from Cosmed

Day 3 - Danshui & Ningxia Ye Shi

Bimbotic me didn't know there was a Momo outlet in Ximending and so, when I spotted an outlet in Danshui, I got excited and my poor boyfie had to help lug these items from Danshui to Ningxia and back to the hotel. And he did all these without complaining. Thank you B! :)

Bought some But,Becky masks because Cosmed and Watsons didn't carry this brand and Dr Morita cleansers were going at a promotional buy 1 and purchase the 2nd cleanser at a special price. I got 2 random masks as free gifts
Accessories in Taiwan aren't as cheap as those in Bangkok but I came across these 2 lovely necklaces in Danshui Lao Jie and decided to buy them despite the price because it was too lovely to skip them. The picture doesn't do justice to the necklaces but I was too tired to recapture them
There was a stallholder who was so patient and friendly introducing us to the different health beverages offered in Taiwan that I couldn't resist supporting his excellent service and gave in to purchasing 3 packets of different flavours - Bird's nest jelly with cranberry and brown sugar, Ginger Tea with Brown Sugar and Bird's Nest something. It tastes too good and refreshing especially on a hot day.

And we purchase the usual, Pineapple shortcake, Taiyang Bing and this other biscuit that was unique to this shop that sold Hello Kitty taiyang bing, shortcakes etc. Decided to buy here instead of Chiate or  Liyi because we didn't want to make a special trip down to their outlets just for them. These were good enough for us.
Ah Po tie dan (Iron eggs) They are covered with this special preservative and contains quail eggs. This is overrated and I don't see the hype over this brand. I've tasted better ones and although the eggs were softer, the outer texture was too hard that the old cannot chew on it. Too tough.
At Ningxia Ye Shi, 1 of the very few stalls selling items instead of food and they were too pretty for me to resist. Bought 7 designs for TWD200 and received 2 nail files as free gift.
 Day 4 - Ximending & Shih Lin

Doing a count of facial products before I add on to the pile!
I couldn't stop thinking of Momo and decided to purchase more items from them at the Ximending outlet. We went Watsons yet again. So....more facial cleansers, pore tightening toners, limited edition masks and surgical masks, just in case.

At night at Shih Lin Ye Shi, got a good deal for the 3 pairs of shoes,. The grey ones are our "Couple shoes" So a pair for him and a pair for me. Eyelashes were going really cheap at this hidden stall which didn't look like a stall at all. She was the cheapest in the whole of Ximending and all the Ye Shi we went to. So I decided to stock up for the whole year. I bought a total of 7 bags because there was an additional 15% discount for purchases above TWD1500 and the bags I bought retailed at TWD290 each! How not to resist???

It was time to pack our luggages and I decided to take a snapshot of my purchases. The masks were all camouflaged by the cleansers and Ted but all in all, I bought about 45 to 50 boxes of masks, some to give away.
My man! Trying out his new pants, t shirt and shoes! Best buy of the trip! He is priceless!

Sorted out the masks according to brands and removed the boxes so that I had more storage space. Masks from Sexylook & Lovemore

My Beauty Diary (I bought more of their newer masks - 2 Steps Facial Masks instead)

But, Becky & Dr Morita

More Lovemore & Sexylook masks
 Final Day last minute shopping

Sophisca food items to give away to family & friends as a novelty, Tony Moly egg pore tightening pack and egg silky smooth balm, Olay Pro-X Advanced Cleansing System - 1 set for B and 1 set for me and a Cookie Monster mask which was our very last minute purchase
A series of the masks we brought back but thankful that we didn't have to use them at all.
My masks!

And the last minute purchases from SASA that I didn't managed to capture a shot because they had all been packed in after we purchase them. More Sexylook and My Beauty Diary masks. Love the Hello Kitty series!

After setting aside some masks to place at B's place, these were the masks I managed to pack and squeeze into 3 aluminim foil trays to keep at home. I counted and there were approximately 300 pieces! No need to worry for a year now!

I am 1 happy lady now but B commented that I actually do not need 5 days in Taiwan, just 1-2 days will suffice and all I need are 3 outlets: Watsons, Cosmed & Momo. Lol. He is probably right. I really should learn to stop shopping so much whenever I travel because Mum thinks the same way when she saw how I shopped and spent my leisure hours during our vacation in Gold Coast.

What can I say? I Live to Shop & Shop to Live!

Travelogue: Taiwan Day 5

Taiwan Day 1
Taiwan Day 2
Taiwan Day 3
Taiwan Day 4

It was our last and final day here in Taipei and we had to check out at 12pm. After checking out, we decided that our priority should be getting those N95 masks that was sold out islandwide in Singapore.

It wasn't easy getting them here either because Cosmed, Watsons and Momo didn't carry them, only the normal surgical ones which wouldn't strong enough.

Someone suggested that we try Carrefour and on our way there....we spotted this happening car driven by an old man! Can't really see though but he had figurines and those shiny stuff wrapped around his back seat. Because he was sitting near us, B didn't dare to take a closer shot.

A costume and mascot shop and I was trying to mimick Lao Fu Zi

B & his favourite "zao cai mao" (Fortune Cat)
After reaching Carrefour, we were told they didn't carry the masks either and asked us to try our luck at this shop diagonally opposite selling medical stuff. We took about 15 to 20minutes just trying to locate Carrefour and it was another good 10 minutes walk before we found the medical shop. But alas! We were told that they only carried medicines etc and the staff advised us to try this lane near the hospital selling all sorts of medical items. This took us another 20 to 30 minutes before we found our destination and we almost lost our way.

Thankfully it didn't disappoint us this time and paid for a box of 25 pieces. Before we stepped out, we decided to purchase another box since we were already there and was buying for quite a number of family and relatives. They didn't have sufficient supplies and needed a good 30 to 45 minutes to collect from their other outlets. We took this time to have our lunch and drink.

I wanted Formosa Chang and B agreed with it. No drinks ordered and we headed over to a nearby Bubble Tea shop to quench our thirst.

I ordered Milktea with Pudding and B got his favourite Passionfruit ice blended.

Finally! N95 masks purchased!

Our saviour!! LOL

Located and hidden behind these old streets, a tourist would never have thought of exploring this side of Ximending

Diagonally across Ximen Station Exit 6 is a police station and their cars were all parked outside the station. Can you spot the dent on the police car?

View of 1 side of the famous and happening Ximending. That's Ximen Station Exit 6 on the right side if you can see the white cars.
We did some beauty shopping once again at MOMO and Cosmed and headed back to the hotel lobby to rest and pack some stuff first. Near evening, we went out again for dinner and to clear our remaining TWD.

Couldn't leave Taiwan without giving this ice cream a try!

The ice cream felt so flimsy like it was gonna collapse anytime that we had to snap pictures as fast as we could

Walked abit more and finally decided to fill our tums tums first before all our TWD is gone

See! I told you...got "Guo Tie" must buy "guo tie".  It was TWD 5 per piece and you could just order your desired quantity and add on later if you think it's insufficient for your tum tum

Tried the black version Dou Jiang but i still prefer the original

They had different flavoured dumplings like spring onion, original, kim chi, curry  and prawn. I decided to give the Kim Chi flavoured a try. Went really well with my tasteless and bland noodles and costs TWD5 per piece
My bland "Original Style Soup Noodles"I wanted the dry version but had placed the wrong order. Oh well...healthier choice i guess

B's red beef noodle soup noodles which tastes like any beef noodles soup you eat in Taiwan

The main menu
Side dishes menu

He got bored when I shopped in SASA and started playing with the mask

That's all for Day 5 in Taiwan and we headed back to the hotel and waited for the taxi to bring us to the Airport at 11pm.

Next post on my loots and beauty hauls in Taiwan!
